The meat that has been rolled is then given breadcrumbs on the outside by rolling it. Then, the meat is cooked in a deep-fried way, using large amounts of hot oil. Cordon bleu itself refers to several types of food, namely chicken cordon bleu which uses boneless chicken breast, veal cordon bleu, or pork cordon bleu which usually uses offal or thinly formed pork such as ham and a piece of cheese. It’s different from the ham cordon bleu variant, which usually uses additional filling in the form of mushrooms to complement the cheese.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices cooked ham

  • 4 slices Swiss cheese

  • 2 boneless chicken breasts

  • 2 cup bread crumbs or corn cereal crumbs

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk

  • ¾ cup vegetable oil or canola or peanut oil

  • ½ cup mayo or Miracle Whip

  • 1 tablespoon mustard

  • 2 teaspoon seasoning

  • 2 teaspoon all-purpose seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon pepper

Directions

  • Prepare a saucepan over medium heat, heat the oil until the temperature reaches 170 °. While waiting for the hot oil, cut the chicken breast into bite sizes.
  • Place the flour, seasonings, garlic salt, and pepper in a liter bag. Stir until all ingredients are combined.
  • Dip each piece of chicken in the milk first, then add it to the flour mixture. Pat the chicken so that it blends perfectly with the flour. Then dip it in the milk again. Finally, roll over the breadcrumbs until completely coated.
  • Put the chicken pieces that have been coated with the de seasoning in hot oil, and cook for about 9 minutes, or until cooked perfectly. Remove and drain.
  • Place on a skillet, add Swiss cheese, ham chunks, and coat with Swiss cheese again. Cover the pan and let the cheese melt. But to make it melt quickly, another way you can do is to put the fried chicken on a plate and coat it with cheese, ham, and cheese again then heat it in the microwave for 35-40 seconds or until the cheese is melted.
  • While waiting for the cheese to melt, you can make the sauce by mixing mayonnaise and mustard in a bowl.
  • Remove chicken and serve with sauce.
