Ingredients

  • 1 lb scallops

  • 3 cloves garlic minced

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 2 tablespoons chopped chives

  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice

  • 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes

  • 2 teaspoons parsley

  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  • Heat 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the scallops that have been seasoned with salt and pepper. Cook for 5 minutes, turning occasionally so that it doesn’t look raw on one side, or cook until each side is golden brown and the center is translucent. Set aside.
  • Heat 2 tablespoons unsalted butter in a skillet over low heat. Add the chopped garlic and cook for 1 minute and watch it carefully so that it doesn’t brown and burn. Add lemon juice and green onion, stir until the sauce is combined, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Remove the scallops on a plate and coat with the garlic butter sauce on top. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes and parsley on top. And Garlic Butter Scallops are ready to be enjoyed.
