What Is Whiskey? And How Is Whiskey Made?
Whiskey is an alcoholic drink made from fermented cereal that undergoes a mashing and distillation process which is stored in small oak vats before ripening. The type of whiskey produced depends on the type of cereal used as raw material, namely barley, malt, rye, wheat, and corn.
Local leaders estimate that this distilled liquor was first made between the 8th and 9th centuries in the Middle East. The distillation technique was brought to Ireland and Britain by Christian monks. According to a popular legend, Saint Patrick introduced the distillation process in Ireland and Britain. The distillation process may have been invented by the Irish, or farmers in Britain who took advantage of the leftovers of cereals after harvest.
Well, this time we will introduce an unusual whiskey recipe. Here’s the recipe for you.
Peach Whiskey Iced TeaCourse: Drinks, Beverage, Whiskey
Peach Whiskey Iced Tea is a fresh alcoholic drink because it is made from Whiskey mixed with black tea and sweetened in the form of a syrup made from peaches, water, and sugar and served cold with ice cubes.
1 part Whiskey
2 ripe thinly sliced peaches
9 cups of water
1 cup of sugar
3 tablespoons loose leaf black tea or 4 tea bags
Ice to taste
sliced peaches and mint leaves to garnish
- Put the peach that has been sliced typhus, sugar, and water in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves and let it boil. Turn off the stove, and let it sit for 30 minutes or until the peach syrup is completely submerged. Strain the peach liquid.
- While waiting for the peach liquid to cool slightly, steep the tea with water for 5 minutes. Do not let it soak for too long so that it is not bitter. Strain loose tea leaves or remove the teabag. Transfer the tea to a teapot and let it cool. Pour the peach syrup mixture into a pitcher and stir until combined. Store in the refrigerator before serving.
- To serve, fill the glass with enough ice cubes, adding whiskey as desired, peach iced tea, and garnish with fresh peach and mint slices. And Peach Whiskey Iced Tea is ready to be enjoyed.
