What Is Tuna Salad Sandwich?

Tuna Salad Sandwich or also known as tuna fish sandwich (tuna sandwich) or tuna salad sandwich is a sandwich made from tuna, whether it is canned tuna or fresh tuna, and is usually combined with mayonnaise and other ingredients. such as chopped celery, pickles or pickles, boiled eggs, shallots, cucumbers, sweet corn, and black olives.

What Is The Difference Between Mayonnaise And Salad Dressing?

Mayonnaise is a mixture of butter or vegetable oil, egg yolk and vinegar or lemon juice or citric acid, which can be combined with several spices, namely salt, sugar, and pepper. While Salad Dressing or also known as the Thousand Island Sauce is made from mayonnaise which is given tomato sauce, chopped olives, mashed boiled egg yolk, and chopped parsley.

Both are thick and creamy dressings containing vegetable oil, lemon juice or vinegar, and seasonings. However, for fruit salads, try using yogurt as a dressing. And it is perfect when added as a dressing to any salad. Well, here we provide one of the recipes for you.

Ingredients

  • 12-ounce tuna in water, drained (need at least 2 cans of tuna)

  • 10 slices bread

  • 1 clove garlic minced

  • 1 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing

  • 1/2 cup chopped celery

  • 1/4 cup chopped onion or red onion

  • 2 tablespoon sweet pickle relish or dill relish

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper or black pepper

Directions

  • Prepare a medium-sized bowl, mix tuna, mayonnaise or salad dressing, celery, onion or red onion, sweet pickle relish or dill relish, fresh lemon juice, and garlic. Season with salt and pepper or black pepper.
  • Spread the tuna mixture on 5 slices of bread. Sprinkle with the remaining slices of bread. Top with the remaining celery or other vegetables such as chopped sweet red peppers, pickled fennel, olives or water chestnuts. Serve and enjoy as a family breakfast.
